A quick and easy whipped feta cheese spread with a smooth, creamy texture paired with a warm, spicy hot honey drizzle that balances sweet and heat perfectly.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces (225g) block feta cheese, preferably full-fat and block style
  • 2 ounces (60g) softened cream cheese or thick Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) extra virgin olive oil, mild-flavored
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) fresh lemon juice
  • 1 small clove garlic, minced finely
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 3 tablespoons (45ml) raw or wildflower honey
  • 1 teaspoon (2g) red chili flakes (or to taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon (1g) smoked paprika (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Spicy Hot Honey: In a small saucepan over low heat, warm 3 tablespoons (45ml) of honey with 1 teaspoon (2g) of red chili flakes and ¼ teaspoon (1g) smoked paprika. Stir occasionally and warm just until fragrant and fluid (about 2-3 minutes). Remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly.
  2. Soften the Cream Cheese: If using cream cheese, make sure it’s at room temperature for easier whipping. Greek yogurt should be thick and cold but stirred smooth.
  3. Whip the Feta Base: Crumble the 8 ounces (225g) block feta into the bowl of your food processor along with the softened 2 ounces (60g) cream cheese or Greek yogurt, 2 tablespoons (30ml) olive oil, 1 tablespoon (15ml) fresh lemon juice, and minced garlic. Pulse until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed (about 1-2 minutes).
  4. Season Carefully: Taste the whipped feta and add a pinch of black pepper and a tiny pinch of salt if needed. Pulse again briefly to mix.
  5. Transfer and Serve: Spoon the whipped feta into a serving bowl or spread it on a platter. Drizzle the warm spicy hot honey generously over the top.
  6. Final Touch: Garnish with a few extra chili flakes or a drizzle of olive oil if desired. Serve immediately with crusty bread, pita chips, or fresh veggies.

Notes

Use block feta for smoother whipping. Warm honey gently to preserve sweetness and infuse chili flavor without boiling. Adjust chili flakes to control heat level. Store whipped feta in airtight container up to 2 days; keep spicy honey separate and warm before serving.
